With the release of Brave, Disney Pixar naturally wanted to do something special in the country it’s set in. We’re big Pixar fans here at STV Creative, so it’s fair to say we were very excited at the prospect of delivering them a campaign.
That cross platform campaign included on air channel sponsorship, rich media digital advertising, as well as sponsored editorial content related to being Scottish that included the first use of product placement technology Myriad in Scotland. Have a look at the film above. Our kite surfers’ wet suits weren’t ‘Brave’ branded when we shot them! This was added later in post.
Feedback from Disney has been amazing. The Scottish launch out-performed the rest of the UK.
We spent almost as much time looking at the physics of Merida’s hair as we did on making all the elements. We’re a bit geeky that way.
